The Fowlerville Medical Clinic opened in April 2003 and was formerly operated by St. Joseph Health Systems. Dr. Norine Tracy, MD and owner of the clinic, worked with the Livingston County MI-SBTDC to arrange a buyout of the practice.
SBTDC assisted Dr. Tracy in obtaining a $150,000 7a loan from National City and also made arrangements for a $15,000 revolving loan fund distribution from the DDA. In addition, the MI-SBTDC assisted the Clinic with obtaining a provider number, the compilation of a business plan, staffing needs, and services expansions.
Prior to the buyout, the clinic had 10 employees and currently employs 17. Sales peaked in 2003, allowing the Clinic to offer a 401k plan as well as short- and long-term disability benefits to employees.
